Healthy Ageing with Dairy: Aged Care Sector and Older Adults Scoping

The addition of dairy foods such as milk, cheese and yoghurt into the daily diet of aged-care residents has been proven to reduce fractures and falls. This project aims to translate this research into policy opportunities to drive the uptake of dairy products within Australia's ageing population and deliver benefits back to the dairy industry.

Impacts of COVID-19 on the Australian Seafood Industry: Extending the assessment to prepare for uncertain futures

In March 2021 the FRDC published an initial rapid assessment of the impacts of COVID-19 on the Australian seafood industry from January - June 2020, that considered direct and indirect effects of disruption to seafood production, supply chains and markets during the initial period of the pandemic, and the availability of data to support rapid assessment. This project aims to produce a more comprehensive follow-up Impact Assessment Report, that will inform the development of a guideline to assess the economic and social effects of large-scale, multi-level risks to fisheries and aquaculture in the future.

Supply chain integrity desirability analysis

This project will explore the supply chains and relationships that exist between Australian processors/exporters and the final retail customer. The research focuses on the proposition that there is a middle market where consumers are still prepared to pay a slightly higher price for enhanced integrity. Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) hypothesizes that such segments exist and technological solutions to providing information and assurances may add value to these mid-tier segments.
