Molecular risk assessment of Salmonella in red meat

Salmonella infection (salmonellosis) is a type of gastroenteritis caused by Salmonella bacteria. It remains a significant public health issue in Australia, and foods of animal origin are most frequently considered to be the source of infection in humans. This project will conduct a molecular risk assessment of Salmonella in red meat in order to prepare for potential changes to regulations in the USA that may impact Australian exporters.

Healthy Subsoils Produce More Red Meat

The Southern Australia Livestock Research Council (SALRC) promotes innovation and learning in the red meat and livestock industries of southeast Australia. This project funds a Producer Demonstration Site (PDS) to address the priority to 'Improve pasture establishment, productivity and persistence in landscapes prone to subsoil compaction or hard pan soil structure'.
