Revaluing Workshop Waste

The Revaluing Workshop Waste project will identify waste and recycling opportunities and solutions for the agriculture, fisheries, and forestry sectors in Australia. The focus on workshop waste is because it attracts only a small amount of attention, yet there are significant opportunities to reduce, reuse or avoid waste. Workshop waste includes tyres, batteries, light bulbs, asbestos, ignitable corrosive liquids, oil, chemicals, wire, timber including posts, machinery, steel, and irrigation infrastructure that are used for agriculture, fisheries or forestry purposes. The outcomes of this work are an analysis of available practical solutions that consider regulatory, environmental, economic, logistical and social implications , including market demand and viability. The most promising solutions will be developed into case studies that demonstrate successful opportunities for revaluing workshop waste in these primary industry sectors.
