Reinvigorating the Queensland Oyster Industry

This project aims to assess the potential of tropical oyster aquaculture as a emerging aquaculture growth opportunity. It will provide the baseline data of species distributions that would be required for licence/permit applications to be granted. It will also extend R&D into the development of hatchery molecular tools to facilitate production technologies for the blacklip oyster as a step towards addressing the current issue of poor larval settlement.
