NCCP: Carp questionnaire survey and community mapping tool - empowering the community to be part of the national solution to Carp

The project aimed to better understand carp aggregation behavior and gather population data to inform the National Carp Control Plan (NCCP) epidemiology modeling. It involved the development of a national carp questionnaire survey conducted through a dedicated mapping and monitoring system called CarpMap. The survey engaged community users, including waterway stakeholders, to gather information about historical carp aggregations. The CarpMap website provided a platform for survey deployment and data collection, including participant statistics and survey responses. The project successfully demonstrated the capacity of online survey tools to support community-based reporting of carp aggregations in inland waterways. The CarpMap website and survey tool can be utilized beyond the project to enhance real-time collection of carp biocontrol results and gather further community information about carp behavior in inland waterways.
