Papaya clean seed program
Papaya meleira virus 2 (PMeV2) is a seed-transmissible virus that is associated with symptom development in papaya sticky disease (PSD). PSD management is critical for production and market access.
This investment will develop a new protocol to reliably detect the PSD virus in seed and allow the industry (growers/nurseries) to access seeds that are free of Papaya Sticky Disease.
