Integrated management of grapevine phylloxera: Phase II
Phylloxera is a tiny yellow aphid that feeds on the roots of grapevines, killing them. This project is a next-phase research program to investigate more effective surveillance, improved selection of resilient rootstocks, disinfestation procedures and knowledge of Australian phylloxera ecology. Wine Australia’s Phylloxera IPM project (DED1701) produced new tools and knowledge that have considerably improved the industry’s ability to manage phylloxera and this project will also consolidate these into effective extension products.
