Cyber threats - are we prepared?
The ‘Cyber security threats - are we prepared?’ project seeks to identify the way forward for the agriculture industry to understand and manage cyber security vulnerabilities. This project will enable AgriFutures and rural industry to understand the current state of cyber security across the agriculture, fisheries, and forestry sectors, and identify the most appropriate means of delivering a best practice-based approach to cyber security. At the conclusion of this project, BDO will provide AgriFutures and the Australian agriculture industry with a report summarising the key threats and greatest risks to the industry. This threat analysis will inform the appropriate risk management approach for organisations of different sizes across the agriculture industry. BDO will identify the appropriate controls and recommendations for key organisations, from small to medium enterprises (SMEs) to large organisations. We understand that entities of varying size and capability will be looking to benefit from this research project. We work closely with a number of SMEs across industries to understand the best way to communicate what can be complex cyber security requirements in simple-to-understand terms. A detailed report sometimes isn’t the most appropriate method to communicate and provision training for organisations. Recognising this, we will use the project as an opportunity to identify communications or training and awareness methods that would be most appropriate for the industry and those that engage with it.
