Avocado Industry Benchmarking

The avocado industry seeks to understand and learn from favourable market conditions and industry growth through benchmarking the industry. There is increasing interest in benchmarking driven by:

  1. evidence that unit price is decreasing due to increasing production volumes, and
  2. the increasing cost of farm inputs.

Results from the benchmarking are intended to equip and support growers to make higher quality data driven business management decisions, and provide industry level financial and production insights.

The results of the benchmarking will inform decisions about investment in the industry, as well as enable levy paying growers to use the information as a management tool to assess the performance of their business against industry priorities.
