Validating a new sampling technique for estimating egg production

This project aimed to improve the accuracy and precision of estimates of spawning biomass obtained using the Daily Egg Production Method (DEPM). Previous work has highlighted the high levels of uncertainty associated with estimates of spawning biomass obtained using the DEPM. It is widely recognised that uncertainty in estimates of mean daily egg production is one of the key drivers of uncertainty in estimates of spawning biomass.
