Understanding and Prevention of Shearer Injuries
Shearing is a physically demanding occupation accompanied with a range of potential injuries. This investment will utilise data from wearable sensors on the body of the shearer to identify primary contributors to the injury risk. The knowledge will support research into wearable assisted solutions for shearers, such as exoskeletons, to reduce the risk of injury while allowing the high degree of manoeuvrability required for shearing.
