Status of Australian Fish Stocks (SAFS) reports 2020, and further development of the SAFS production and dissemination system

The Status of Australian Fish Stocks (SAFS) reports (www.fish.gov) brings together the best available biological, catch and effort information to determine the status of Australia’s wild-catch fish stocks against a nationally agreed reporting framework. Currently, the reports covers more than 90 per cent of the gross value of production of wild caught commercial fish in Australia. This investment supports the development of the 2020 SAFS reports with the inclusion of 30 new species covering 150 species/species complexes.
