NVT winter crop Trial Service Provision
The National Variety Trial (NVT) program was established by GRDC in 2005 to provide Australian grain growers and advisers with access to independent and locally relevant variety performance information. In providing this information to growers and advisers, NVT accelerates the adoption of new, superior varieties and helps avoid the use of regionally unsuitable varieties. The Trial Service Provision program delivers yield trial results from ~650 trials at ~350 locations across the country for ~2,000 near-release or released varieties of ten crops: bread wheat, durum wheat, barley, canola, oats, lupins, lentils, field peas, faba beans and chickpeas. It also delivers grain quality information for these crops.
