Nursery Industry Natural Disaster risk mitigation and disaster recovery plan

This investment is assessing the potential for natural disasters and severe weather events to adversely impact upon the Australian production nursery industry, and helping to develop strategies and resources for better preparedness, speedier recovery and stronger resilience. As part of the work in identifying natural hazards such as bushfires, floods and cyclones, the project is developing a risk map for the industry. It is also producing an official Natural Disaster Recovery Action Plan and, specifically for growers and nursery businesses, it’s developing a risk mitigation and management best practice guide, which will be integrated into the industry’s Best Management Practice (BMP) program.
