Mushroom supply chain best practice management

This project delivers a supply chain best practice guide for the mushroom industry. The Guide will assist industry in improving the handling and storage of mushrooms within the supply chain, from farm gate and transportation to retail.

The project team will review the available literature on postharvest management of mushrooms, conduct trials to fill gaps in existing local knowledge and then ‘ground truth’ data by monitoring specific Australian supply chains. The monitoring will promote industry engagement with the project and ensure that the proposed strategies are commercially and financially viable.

The Guide will be available online and in hard copy, with project findings communicated nationally through five face-to-face or online industry workshops.
