Floor eggs data analysis and trials

The conditions contributing to floor egg production are poorly understood. By identifying these conditions targeted interventions can be used to minimise floor egg numbers, reducing the associated food safety and economic implications. This project will use data analysis, survey and targeted experimentation in the rearing and production environments to identify production and environmental factors that are associated with high levels of floor eggs within a flock. With this information Australian Eggs will develop resources to assist egg farmers in creating production environments which are less conducive to floor eggs.
