Facilitation of the Australian Red Meat Carbon initiative
This project will investigate two key problem areas identified within Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA)'s Carbon Neutral 2030 initiative:
-
delivering an appropriate supply of 3-nitrooxypropanol and/or red as paragopsis algae into the rumen of cattle and sheep in order to reduce or eliminate methane emissions without compromising the digestive efficiency of the animal;
-
measuring carbon in soils at depths of at least 1.2m in an accurate, scalable, and cost-effective manner.
