DairyBio Animal - Accelerating improvement in health and resilience and reducing the environmental impact of the Australian dairy herd.
This project is developing breeding values for new functional traits, especially traits associated with health and resilience, to enable improvement in these traits, and to lower health costs by 10% through genetic selection for health traits and to reduce labour costs associated with dairy cow health. The new traits will contribute to an increase in genetic gain and up to 5% increase in profit.
