Building capability in food safety in Australian shellfish

The project aims to build capability in food safety within the Australian shellfish industry. By providing national guidance on the interpretation and delivery of the Australian Shellfish Quality Assurance Program (ASQAP), the project ensures market access is maximized, supporting industry growth and development. The training modules developed for regulators and industry professionals address the specialized knowledge required for bivalve shellfish food safety risk management. By leveraging the expertise of existing Australian experts and adopting successful risk management strategies, the project enhances the knowledge and skills of regulators and industry members, ensuring the longevity of training and fostering a safe and sustainable shellfish industry.
