Attracting the next generation - Primary Industries Education Foundation Australia Membership 2022-2023

By partnering with the Primary Industries Education Foundation Australia (PIEFA), the project provides awareness, access, and support to educators and students, showcasing the wide variety of careers available in the fishing and aquaculture industry. The project conducts research to understand the current level of engagement, barriers, and opportunities in positioning fishing and aquaculture with students and educators, enabling targeted interventions and curriculum-aligned resources. Through PIEFA's established channels and networks, the project improves teacher awareness, confidence, and knowledge to effectively implement food and fiber education in Australian schools. It also promotes food and fiber education initiatives through media and industry spheres, creating broader awareness and engagement. Overall, the project enhances the industry's connection with the next generation, fostering interest and building a skilled workforce for the future.
