AgResearch enhance the value, productivity and profitability of New Zealand’s pastoral, agri-food and agri-technology sector through effective science. Their research contributes to economic growth and beneficial environmental and social outcomes for New Zealand. AgResearch's three goals are to:

1. Help foster and support prosperous land-based enterprises
2. Produce research that protects and enhances natural resources in a sustainable fashion
3. Contribute scientific understanding to added-value foods and bio-based products to meet evolving consumer demands.
