PDS: Feeding Grain on Grass

This project will fund a demonstration site for producers in central west and northern New South Wales, to demonstrate the benefits of using forage and grain feed tests to develop a grain ration to supplement livestock that are grazing forage crops. Supplementary feeding increases liveweight gain and enables improved production efficiency and increased profitability.

Understanding water quality risk for the sustainable and efficient production of Pacific and Sydney Rock Oysters

The Macleay River is a typical oyster farming estuary that experiences a range of water quality issues. For the first time, this project will collect and analyse very detailed water quality information from this estuary that will be used to build predictive models to show the impact of poor water quality events such as flooding, bushfire runoff, acid sulphate runoff, de-oxygenated water, disease, low salinity and sewage spills on estuaries farming Sydney rock and pacific oysters.
