UCS00024 - Surveillance of herbicide resistant weeds in Australian grain cropping
Herbicide resistance in weeds is a major problem in farming systems of the GRDC's Southern and western regions and is increasing in the northern region. Understanding the threat and extent of resistance present at a district level can encourage growers to take timely action to reduce the impact of resistance.
This project will conduct regional surveys across the Northern, Southern and western regions to deliver information about the extent of herbicide resistance in key weeds, changes in resistance patterns over time and identify potential emerging resistance threats. Summarised results on resistance status and mapping information will be delivered to growers, agronomists, consultants and industry.
