Post-doctoral Fellowship - Understanding sorghum root growth and function in cold soils aligned to UOQ1808-001RTX
This investment aims to improve grower and adviser knowledge of the effects of establishing winter grown sorghum including the impact of cold soils on root growth and function, water use patterns, water use efficiency, yield, profit and risk implications. The project will also explore the impact of ratooning a winter sown sorghum crop into a second harvest including impacts on yield, profit and risk on the sorghum crop and subsequent winter sown crops.
