Industry engagement capability building - new products and industry development

There are significant new markets within the growing global bioeconomy; and the Australian sugarcane industry, as a large-scale supplier of feedstocks is placed to be a significant beneficiary of this opportunity. The Sugar Plus Roadmap sets out to strengthen and expand the Australian Sugarcane Industry through diversified products, achieved through collaboration and cohesion.

This project will pilot the establishment of an industry network to connect key stakeholders to build knowledge, skills and capability, and work towards advancing commercial developments for Australian sugarcane businesses to capitalise on opportunities for complementary income streams. In doing this, the project aims to build industry engagement capability by developing researchers understanding of industry’s commercial drivers, growing industry's awareness of transferable technologies and encouraging systems-based approaches to design collective solutions. This 12-month pilot will run a series of events and communication activities, establish a stakeholder database, and advance opportunities for future investment in solutions to industry challenges.
