GRDC Grower Solutions- North
GRDC Grower Solutions Projects are the link between regional research and localised development resulting in fast-tracked locally relevant outcomes to help growers make decisions that result in practice changes and increased farm production and profitability. The GRDC Grain Orana Alliance (GOA Grower Solutions) will service the Central West NSW division of the GRDC northern region. In each of four sub regions within the Central West, local growers and advisers will meet biannually to prioritise key production issues.
Prioritised issues are assessed across the sub-regions and then addressed by:
- Local research, development, validation and subsequent extension of outputs conducted by GOA Grower Solutions;
- Issues integrated into other GRDC funded research projects within the region;
- Issues raised for assessment for potential new or continuing investment by the GRDC Northern Panel;
- GRDC Regional Growers Services Communications and Extension to Growers.
The project will target short term issues (one-three year time frame) and provide rapid response answers to issues that are raised. Of particular importance is fast-tracking the packaging and extension of these findings to foster easy and rapid adoption.
The ultimate aim of the project is an improvement in the rate of industry adoption and level of uptake of improved practices as well as improved linkage between R&D agencies, growers, advisers and agribusiness in the central west of NSW.
