Climate Resilience with Mixed Species and Nutrient Cycling
Changes to pasture management from reliance on perennial ryegrass dominant pastures and high inputs of N fertilisers to multispecies pastures (grass, legume, herb) provide potential opportunities to increase home grown feed in more challenging seasons, reduce reliance on costly nitrogen fertilisers, reduce environmental impacts, build deeper soil carbon, and improve biodiversity and ecosystem service.
