Around one-third of food produced globally is wasted, contributing up to 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions, leading to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal of reducing food waste by 50% by 2030.
It is OSY Group’s mission to be a key player in reducing food waste through the extension of food shelf-life, via the application of our antimicrobial coating to food packaging. Our uniqueness lies in the combination of the strength of our technology and breadth of both food and packaging types it is effective on.
Our technology has been proven extensively, working in conjunction with a leading premium UK grocer, leading UK food producer and multiple large European packaging companies. We have proven to extend shelf-life by up to 50% on fresh produce, be fully safe and compliant with food contact regulations and drive significant ROIs throughout the supply chain.
Due to launch commercially in the UK with a leading premium grocer shortly, we are now seeking R&D and commercial partners in certain target markets including Australia and the APAC region. This extends to grocers, food producers across fruit / veg / bakery / meats and poultry, laboratories, universities and other testing facilities.
Supported by Innovate UK funding and part of the Innovate UK Edge delegation to Australia, we are currently completing a funding round to further support our UK and international growth both in respect to further R&D and commercial scale-up.
