Opportunity for
- Australian funding, manufacturing, and research/trail partners to support and establish a pathway into the Australian market.
Opportunity description
Industry challenge
Bio-security is a key focus for farmers, food producers and government regulators. The Centre of Excellence for Biosecurity Risk Analysis (University of Melbourne) has estimated the value of Australia's biosecurity system at $314 billion over 50 years in present value terms (2020), with a net return on investment of 30:1. Australia has a proud agricultural history and an enviable bio-security record but with increasing globalisation and the threat of new viruses and bacteria, new solutions are required. Current solutions revolve around harsh chemicals, somewhat effective in eradicating disease, but harmful to humans and the environment.
AT RBT we have developed a bio-security solution that eradicates 99.999% of bacteria, viruses and fungi, whilst being 100% biodegradable. What's more, we have developed patented dry nebulising technology to distribute our disinfectant in a completely dry form. The dry nebules remain in the air for up to 6 hours, killing germs and binding to all surfaces, offering a residual disinfectant effect. Our product has been deemed safe by and independent toxicologist for human and animal inhalation for up to 51 hours, meaning farmers and food producers can ensure consistency of disinfection.
Current opportunity
RBT are seeking an local funding partner to support the regulatory pathway, trials and to secure distribution partners in Australia.
We are currently investigating the regulatory route to have our products and solutions approved in the Australian market.
Concurrently, we will be looking to research organisations to support the running of field trials. We will also be looking to secure distribution partners and potentially in-country manufacturing partners.
RBT, operating for a decade in the UK and providing agri-solutions to South Africa's poultry market for two years, secured a UK Government grant to launch its solution in the UK and Europe in Q2 2024, with plans to expand to Australia and Brazil seeking partnership support to launch into those morkets.

Our bio-security solution is already being delivered in poultry operations in South Africa and we are trialling our products in Grain silos. We are launching our solution in the UK and European market in Q2 2024. All of our products have EU Biocidal approval and have been independently tested in accredited labs.
Key USP's
- 100% biodegradable and 99.999% effective against Bacteria, Viruses and Fungi
- Using our dry nebulising technology we can emit a dry disinfectant, which is particularly important in areas where extra moisture can be problematic
- We have shown in poultry sheds that we can increase yield and reduce disinfection time. We have field trials that can prove the cost savings involved
- Our solution is eco-friendly and has zero impact on the surrounding environment
Potential other applications
Our solution is currently operating in the poultry sector and we are trialling in the grain sector. That said, we see potential opportunities in a varying array of agricultural and veterinary areas including:
Agricultural:
- Fruit storage and distribution
- Food production areas
- Medical Cannabis (where we have run early-stage trials)
Veterinary:
- Swine
- Cattle
- Dairy
- Sheep and Lamb
