Carbon Capture Shield: New tool for soil health and carbon quantification – Investment opportunity

Opportunity for

  • Investors^ and/or strategic, industry, and research partners interested in soil health and carbon sequestration, to help commercialise a new quantification tool.

^This investment opportunity is only for professional and sophisticated investors.

Opportunity description

Industry challenge:

The global challenge we are addressing is soil degradation, which affects over a third of the world's land and nearly 2.5 billion people. Poor soil health leads to reduced agricultural yields and contributes to climate change through the release of stored carbon. QSAAT addresses these issues by automating the characterization and quantification of ecosystem samples, providing an "Ecosystem Health State" score.

Current opportunity:

We are in the process of scaling our prototype of QSAAT into a cloud-based service, targeted for completion by December 2023. We are actively seeking $250,000 AUD in funding for this phase.

Our technology has already garnered interest and commitments from the Soil Food Web School and USDA/ATTRA, who plan to deploy QSAAT to a network of soil scientists, agronomists, and approximately 1,500 farmers across the USA by March 2024. Investment and collaboration at this stage will expedite our R&D and scaling activities.

The market for soil health solutions is vast, with the global soil testing equipment market alone expected to reach $6.2 billion by 2025. Our technology, QSAAT (Quantitative Soil Sample Analysis Automation Technology), aims to revolutionize soil testing and management, making it more accessible, accurate, and actionable.

Opportunity background:

QSAAT employs advanced machine learning and AI to automate the analysis of ecosystem samples, providing not just data but actionable insights through an "Ecosystem Health State" score. The system also suggests prescriptive stewardship actions and continuously adapts and improves its algorithms for better accuracy and efficiency.

All these processes are recorded in a Distributed Ledger, ensuring full transparency and traceability. Our point of difference lies in the uniquely qualified team of experts and engineers along with the technology's ability to self-fund its development through initial deployments, ensuring freedom from potentially negative external influences.

Potential other applications:

Beyond soil health, QSAAT has the potential to be adapted for various other applications such as water quality testing, air quality monitoring, and even in the healthcare sector for automated sample analysis (our lead researcher has more than a decade of experience innovating in the biomedical space). Its data analytics capabilities can also be leveraged for predictive modelling in various environmental and agricultural contexts. Our Distributed Ledger component also offers potential for applications requiring high levels of transparency and traceability.
