JAB Agri Solutions: Compliance Toolkit development and small producer workshop series – partnership opportunity

Opportunity for

  • Technology partners or investors to co-develop and commercialise the Compliance Toolkit software.
  • Agribusinesses and industry service providers seeking to support small producer compliance and education.

Opportunity description

Industry challenge

Small livestock producers and hobby are an important part of Australia’s livestock industry and yet are underserved by current compliance and education systems. Most tools on the market are designed and targeted to large-scale operations - expensive, complex, and out of reach for smaller producers.

Results from a survey conducted by Jab Agri Solutions in collaboration with Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) and Integrity Systems Company (ISC) of over 1,100 respondents found 78% still rely on manual systems or no system at all. This gap is leaving small and hobby producers vulnerable to compliance gaps in NLIS, LPA, eNVD and biosecurity obligations. These producers want simple, affordable solutions and practical training opportunities to help them meet industry standards, safeguard market access, and strengthen resilience.

Current opportunity

JAB Agri Solutions is developing a Compliance Toolkit a user-friendly software solution purpose-built for small producers. The tool integrates NLIS, eNVD, and LPA record-keeping with paddock mapping, WHP alerts, animal history tracking, and audit-ready templates. It aims to simplify processes through step-by-step prompts, automation, and image capture, removing barriers to adoption and supporting national traceability and biosecurity goals.

Ahead of the development of the digital tool, JAB Agri is rolling out a national small producer workshop series. Delivered in locations based on the cluster postcodes of the survey results and co-facilitated with vets, accountants and government experts, the three-module format covers biosecurity and traceability, animal welfare and husbandry, and business and risk management. The workshops directly respond to producer demand for in-person, practical training, while linking to the Compliance Toolkit and Education Hub for continuity.

Partners are invited to collaborate on development, licensing, investment, or delivery partnerships that will bring these solutions to market faster and maximise reach across regional Australia.

Opportunity background

The Compliance Toolkit and workshop model were informed by a national survey co-delivered with Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) and Integrity Systems Company (ISC), with strong producer uptake and endorsement. Early discussions with potential collaborators highlight strong interest in both the software MVP and education delivery model.

Potential other applications

While initially focused on small livestock producers, the Compliance Toolkit framework has the potential to expand into other agricultural sectors, including cropping, aquaculture and emerging agricultural industries. The modular approach to compliance, record-keeping and training also positions the tool for adaptation to international markets facing similar traceability and biosecurity pressures. The workshop series and Education Hub could serve as a scalable model for capacity building and compliance training across agriculture and allied industries.
