Understanding Ostreid herpesvirus type 1 risk: alternative hosts and in situ hybridisation
Pacific Oyster Mortality Syndrome (POMS) is a disease caused by the virus Ostreid herpesvirus-1 microvariant (OsHV-1 µVar). A major gap in the understand of the epidemiology of this disease is a lack of knowledge of the importance of non-OsHV-1 hosts and their role as reservoirs and in transmission of the virus. This project will use molecular techniques to provide information to better understand this risk.
