The response of broilers to insoluble fibre and exogenous enzymes in low protein
This investment examines whether lowering dietary crude protein in meat chicken feed can be realised through the supplementation of different sources of insoluble fibre and protease in the feed. The outcomes of this project will lead to the more effective use of protein in broiler diets to potentially reduce the cost of feed, enhance gut health, minimise the incidence of wet litter and mitigate nitrogen excretion from birds that results from undigested protein.
