Tech Tooling Soil and Plant Health
The project aimed to advance awareness and decision-making around soil health practices through the use of handheld technologies. The project successfully identified and secured a range of technologies, including the MicroBIOMETER®, for demonstration and outreach.
Key activities included the procurement of five digital MicroBIOMETER soil health monitoring kits, which were used in workshops to aid group instruction and develop a regional 'hub' for ongoing access and use. Two workshops were conducted, with a total of approximately 70 attendees. The first workshop focused on raising user experience with the MicroBIOMETER technology and other available handheld soil health monitors with the second workshop providing a hands-on opportunity to explore the application of the technology.
Overall, the project provided valuable experiences and engagement opportunities, successfully raising awareness and advancing decision-making around soil health practices through the use of handheld technologies.
