Sustainability Reporting Uplift

Building on extensive research, this project will develop the environmental data framework, address gaps, and implement a beta solution in delivering streamlined and cost-effective reporting for the beef and sheep sustainability frameworks and emerging European Union and United States market environmental reporting requirements. This will set industry up to track, improve and report on environmental sustainability into the future. The data framework will collate >40 datasets required for sustainability reporting, test approaches to address known data gaps and identify core cross-commodity data points required to verify the agricultural sustainability credentials, focusing on key carbon, water and land indicators required under numerous global environmental standards. This uplift project acknowledges processors as important facilitators and innovators in industry environmental sustainability reporting, helping to create distinct economic benefits, particularly for the red meat and wool industries, with co-benefits to other food & fibre exporters requiring similar data and reporting systems. The project will improve environmental transparency and market traceability in a proactive response to changing market demand.
