Sustainability Reporting for wool - Uplift Grant

From 2014 to 2020 the livestock industries invested in research to deliver reporting of key metrics for the ABSF, ASSF and more recently, emerging international systems focused on the EU PEF program and US market based reporting. In late 2022 this work concluded by recommending one underlying data system that could deliver on the needs of the future,, based on a complex array of >40 datasets covering livestock production, farm inputs and spatial data on land and vegetation management. The research identified a set of gaps in livestock data, land and vegetation data, and water. To report verified and reliable findings supporting Australian domestic production and exports, these gaps must be resolved. Building on this extensive background research, this project will develop the data framework, address gaps and implement a beta solution to deliver streamlined and cost-effective reporting for the ABSF, ASSF, EU and US markets at industry level, with application at company level, delivering a step change that will set industry up for tracking, improving and reporting sustainability into the future.
