Strengthening communities: the social impact of the red meat processing sector

The Australian red meat processing sector plays a significant role in local communities, yet there is no evidence of their social impact. This project will review existing social impact frameworks, undertake industry consultation to gather evidence on awareness, indicators, and current practice for social impact to develop a social impact framework for the red meat processing sector. By enhancing the awareness and transparency of the social impact of the red meat processing sector, connections between them and their community, its employees, and consumers will be strengthened, further positioning the sector as a global leader and ensuring its social licence to operate.
