Skills and knowledge development of advanced telemetry enabled digital irrigation monitoring technologies.

The project aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of citrus growers in the Riverina region regarding advanced digital irrigation telemetry monitoring technologies. It focused on addressing the challenges faced by growers in using and interpreting digital telemetry devices for irrigation management.

A total of 5 workshops attended by growers were ran, with them providing comprehensive training on the use and interpretation of digital telemetry climate and irrigation devices. The workshops combined technical information with practical application through outdoor demonstrations and exercises. Participants learned about various sensors, digital telemetry systems, data logging, and cloud interface technologies. The training also included exercises and homework to reinforce the theoretical knowledge with practical experience.

One of the key achievements of the project was the positive feedback from participants. The course assessment showed that 82% of participants found the workshops highly useful and relevant, while the remaining 18% rated them just one level below the highest rating. This indicates a high level of satisfaction and relevance among the participants.

Overall, the project successfully enhanced the skills and knowledge of Riverina citrus growers in using advanced digital irrigation telemetry monitoring technologies. It addressed the challenges of technology adoption by providing practical, hands-on training and fostering a better understanding of digital telemetry data interpretation. The project's success is evident in the positive feedback from participants and the continued demand for similar workshops.
