Science Support for Marketing 2022-2025

This project follows on from OF-00576 and provides the necessary resources to enable specialist researchers to conduct research to establish for AWI the health and wellbeing benefits of wearing wool apparel in different environments (during sleeping, sporting and emergency activities). It includes review of relevant literature and preparation of documentation and factsheets to support AWI marketing of wool’s attributes. The project also follows on from OF-00525 by considering the extent to which animal-based fibres will be disadvantaged if products made from animal fibres are subject to the proposed EU Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules for apparel and footwear (PEFCR) which are biased toward high-tenacity synthetic fibres.
