SafePassAI: AI-Powered Hygiene & Safety Compliance Monitoring
Compliance of workers with hygiene requirements is absolutely essential for meat production and is closely monitored by plants, particularly where there may be a significant number of new staff entering the plant on a regular basis. Monitoring can be very resource intensive for plants.
Technology provides a potential solution for processors. SafePass. AI is a modular, AI-powered compliance monitoring system designed to enhance hygiene and safety enforcement in meat-processing environments. Leveraging Axis smart cameras with system-on-chip (SoC) technology, SafePassAI monitors usage of personal protective equipment, handwashing, and boot sanitation in real time. Metadata generated by each camera is aggregated and analysed through a central server and web-based interface. The system integrates with existing infrastructure (e.g., NX Witness VMS) and supports reporting, visual overlays, and alert mechanisms. The project aims to deliver a scalable and non-intrusive QA solution tailored to operational requirements.
This tech could potentially improve the way worker hygiene is monitored and reduce resourcing requirements for plants to monitor.
