ALC exports to over 75 countries. These countries have high expectations when it comes to shelf life and product presentation. Some of these destination countries have long supply chains from ALC supply to destination consumer, and thus shelf-life length and consistency are vital to the ALC business and its global customer and consumer base. ALC have been working with McLaren Stainless Ltd (NZ) and MultiVac (Australia) to identify the next step change in vacuum bagging lamb primals to continue to push the boundaries mentioned above. The outcome of these deliberations between ALC. McLaren and Multivac has been to evaluate the benefits of taking the current McLaren Stainless iChill vacuum packing machine and extend its length to enable the time the product is within the vacuum machine by around 10 %. The new innovation will be known as the iChill+ with the McLaren rotary machine going through a thorough redesign to further improve its performance and reliability.
