Role of Red Meat in Society Website

The project will establish an independent, high quality, web based authoritative scientific reference website relating to the interaction of animal agriculture and meat with human nutrition and health, environmental, animal and societal impact. While existing peer reviewed literature within these topics is extensive, it is dispersed and difficult to access and assimilate. The field is dynamic and global in nature, demanding constant monitoring with industry, societal and legislative (both local and international) interaction ranging from complex scientific assessment to succinct lay audience summaries. It is critical that high quality peer reviewed impartial and current evidence be readily assessable in a variety of formats including text, diagrams, video and audio that meet the needs of a wide range of users. The project will transition and extend an existing base of reference material to a contemporary web structure that provides extensive search functions, usability and security. Critically, the site must be clear, transparent and trusted, with trust built from content material being independently reviewed by leading scientists within each field. Site usability and engagement will be delivered by an expert site manager providing a professional link between scientific panels and users. The scope of this project is to deliver and launch this website.
