Review of international water footprints and their assessment of Australian Agriculture

Water is arguably the most significant environmental issue for cotton growers. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is an internationally excepted approach to assessing the environmental impacts of products and services and the last 10 years has seen significant developments internationally in ways to assess water impacts in LCA. This project reviews these international water footprinting methodologies to understand the mechanics and implications of different approaches and if the data used are appropriate for the Australian situation.
