Prioritising Lamb Survival Interventions
There are many management interventions to improve lamb survival and understanding the priority for the different interventions would help target messaging and research. This project will prioritise management interventions through bio-economic modelling and develop industry level rules of thumb that reflect these priorities. Outcomes from this project will help focus extension and adoption efforts to ultimately increase lamb survival and weaning rates.
The analysis delivered through this project will provide a foundation upon which future extension tools can be developed. A decision support tool that allows producers to evaluate the financial outcome of these management interventions for their own farm and their current management practices is a potential tool arising from this project.
