Predicting age of livestock from DNA samples

This project will adopt methodology developed in the field of forensic science and apply it to livestock in order to predict the age of animals. Knowledge of the age of animals is often a key barrier to implementing large scale genetic improvement programs, especially in the Northern beef industry.
