NCCP - Engineering Options for the National Carp Control Plan

This project focuses on the exploration of engineering and technology options for the clean-up and disposal of high biomass carp populations in inland waterways in southeastern Australia. The project aims to support the National Carp Control Program (NCCP) in developing effective strategies to minimize the impact of large-scale carp mortality. The report outlines the key objectives of the project, including identifying suitable clean-up technologies and methods, assessing resource requirements, evaluating logistical and contracting constraints, and estimating costs for biomass removal. The report describes the methodology used, including expert engagement, workshops, and cost estimation based on case studies. It highlights key themes and strategies identified during the workshop sessions, such as clean-up solutions, carp aggregation techniques, river operations, isolation and segregation methods, surveillance and monitoring approaches, and utilizing the environment to advantage.
