National Tomato Potato Psyllid and Zebra Chip Surveillance
The incursion of Tomato potato psyllid (TPP) has serious nationwide ramifications for several key horticulture industries regardless of whether the pest is eradicated or becomes established and requires management. TPP is a very high priority pest that becomes an extreme priority if combined with the bacterial disease caused by the Zebra chip pathogen, for which it is a vector.
This project will help to monitor spread of TPP and provide industry coordination through Plant Health Australia and industry representative bodies of each affected industry, in conjunction with regulators, RD&E agencies and service providers.
