National Soybean Breeding Program 2017 - 2021
Soybean is an integral part of the diverse range of cropping systems in Australia. This project aims to develop varieties that deliver a robust and profitable soybean phase to maximise the benefits of soybean in the cropping system. This investment is focussed on increasing disease and weathering tolerances, ensuring broad adaptation and increasing grain quality traits. Increasing yield per se and the release of Sulfonylurea herbicide tolerant varieties is another key focus of the program. The breeding program remains GMO-free.
