More profit from Nitrogen - Potentially mineralisable N soil analysis

This project provides additional value to individual More Profit for Nitrogen (MPfN) projects by undertaking additional soil nitrogen (N) mineralisation analyses and soil carbon (C) analyses that can be correlated with actual soil N supply in the field. Pooling soil N mineralisation potential and additional soil organic C analyses from MPfN trials with similar data from the Sugar Research Australia project ‘Soil N mineralisation tests and assessment of soil contribution to crop N requirement’ will enhance our understanding of the potential of soils to supply N, and contribute to our ability to accurately account for this in N decision making tools.
