Molecular assessment and characterisation

Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC)produce potentially lethal toxins, however only a very small percentage of STEC are known to cause illness. The project will assess the potential implications that adoption of risk classification schemes would have on the current testing program and product disposition regarding STEC.
